National/International

Nautical Research Guild – Organization that promotes the building of better ship models. Their motto is “Building Better Models Through Research”. A good group that holds an annual conference in different locations of the U.S. 2015 will be at Mystic, CT, so now is a great time to join! Find out more at http://www.thenrg.org. Membership includes a subscription to the quarterly Nautical Research Journal.

California

South Bay Model Shipwrights – Meets generally on the third Friday of each month at the Los Altos Library, 13 S. San Antonio Rd, Los Altos, CA 94024. Meeting time is 7pm. Contact club Commodor Jim Rhetta, j.rhetta at yahoo.com (replace “at” with “@”) for info or visit their website.

Hyde Street Pier Model Shipwrights – Meets at 9:30am on the third Saturday of each month in their workshop aboard the ferry boat Eureka at the San Francisco National Maritime Historic Park. Contact Leo Kane at kanebulota at comcast.net (replace “at” with “@”).
