Domus Architectural Kits – A Different Kind of Model Building Challenge

While our name implies that we only deal with ship model kits, Ages of Sail is actually the U.S. importer and distributor for a few other products, like these architectural kits from Domus.

Close to 90 Different Kits in Stock to Choose From!

The Castle 6 Burgen kit, Domus kit 40906 shown completed above is a 1/65-scale kit built-up, brick by brick, with real brick and wood materials, into the castle shown here. The kit includes real miniature bricks, so the kits are very heavy. The kits also include glue, paints and scenery material. The kits begin with a cardboard frame, which forms a guide for gluing the bricks into place.

In the case of the castle kit above, this is a big 3300 piece kit, so it’s quite a project. But how special would it be for the builder, young or old, to work on such a fun and unique project. And, with nearly 90 different kits in stock, there’s plenty to choose from.

Here’s a smaller project that makes up a beautiful country scene…

This is the Casona Mansion, Domus kit number 40207. This model comes in a very convenient HO scale, allowing you to create a lovely European farmhouse scene using readily available figures and landscaping.

Looking for a unique model project? How about a beautifully scenic bridge?

The Bridge 3 Construction Kit, Domus 40253, includes over 2000 pieces! Bricks, glue, paints, scenery material, all included. This model will look beautiful on display and provide hours of fun and challenge.

Here’s another bridge kit, but one that’s built from wood instead of stone. The rustic Bridge 4 kit, Domus 40254 is a covered bridge built of wood. This is a 1:50 scale model, very close to the O-Gauge model railroading scale, which is again makes it easy to find suitable figures to add if you like. Even so, the included paint and scenery will make for a lovely display model that will look beautiful on the shelf and make the builder proud.

And, if you just can’t get enough complexity and size, how about a 1:100-scale, 6900 piece diorama kit that measures almost 40″ long?  That’s  St. Pere d’Egara, Domus kit 40080.

These make wonderful craft projects for classrooms, clubs, families, or individuals young and old. Check out the entire line of Domus kits at Ages of Sail: http://www.agesofsail.com/ecommerce/domus-construction-kits.html?limit=207
